3 New Styles for M Boutique!

Here are 3 new styles for M Boutique.  I came extremely close to keeping the pink and orange flower one for myself.  Here are the sizes:

Pink and orange flower: can fit a large range of sizes because of the elastic

Colorful tree dress: 2 & 4

Gray and lime tie straps: 4 & 6

I am also hoping to add one more new one Monday!

More Summer Dresses

First, check out the blog Pretty in Pink Megan.  She wore the long maxi dress this weekend and it of course looks great on her!  She also wore the big yellow bow dress to her bridesmaid luncheon and another ellen&ollie dress on her honeymoon!!  Thanks Megan!

I am making 4 new summer styles for M Boutique and then I am moving on to Fall.  This is the first one I have tried made.  It looks weird because of the back, but it looks great on.  I finished it Thursday night and I was not happy with it.  I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it, or how to make it better.  Finally when I woke up Friday morning I decided to add pockets with buttons.  There was still something that wasn’t working for me.  I think it is the fabric.  I don’t think the fabric goes with the style.

Dress for Langhorne

My brother has been asking me to make a dress for his girlfriend for a while, but I didn’t know he was really serious until this weekend.  I thought this style would be perfect for her.  It is hard to see from the picture that the print on the ruffle is from one of the one shoulder dresses.  I think this will look so good on her!

Graduation Day

This is my family after graduation.  My mom is wearing the other dress I made for her.  She later decided to wear a belt with it, which was the perfect touch.  I have raided her closest for her vintage belts many times, so she was surprised to even find one.  She found one from when she was in high school.  I must have overlooked it or it would have been in my closest!

My brother is wearing a seersucker tie I made him 4 years ago, which I had no idea he was going to wear.  The ties were one of the first things I learned how to sew.  He of course got the very first one.  My dad still wants me to make ties along with the dresses, but the dresses are just much more exciting.  My dad also didn’t realize we were all wearing ellen&ollie.  He said he would have worn his tie too!

Graduation Weekend

Graduation weekend was so busy.  We had Liz’s party Thursday night.  At the last minute I was debating which dress to wear, the long dress with the sweetheart neckline or the long strapless with the ruffle top.  This is my mom, me and LL in ellen&ollie before Liz’s party.  My mom is wearing the cars dress I made for her.  I am wearing the strapless one I decided on (with the help of Laura Lee and Amanda).  I did not make Laura Lee’s dress, but I made the clutch for her last summer that she is carrying.

2 New styles for M

I have had so much time to sew since classes ended!  I have 2 new styles ready to take to M.  The dresses should be there by Monday!  The long dress is my favorite of all the dresses I have ever made.  I want to wear mine all the time.

My Graduation Dress

I cannot in any way believe that I am graduating this Friday morning.  How can 4 years go by so fast?  I am so sad to leave Clemson, but also very excited to be back in Columbia.  This is the dress I made to wear to my graduation.  My mom also sent these buttons from the store in Columbia.  I decided last minute to add the slanted pockets to give it a more vintage look!

Since I graduate at 9:30 in the morning, I am guessing I will want to change at some point in the day.  I made this skirt to wear later that day with the left over fabric from the dress I made my cousin last week.  I am going to wear it with a blue top my friend, Amanda, gave me for my birthday!

Another dress for my mom

This is one of the dresses I was waiting on buttons to come in to finish.  The buttons turned out great!

Buttons!

My cousin has 9 weddings to go to this year.  She asked me to make her the cut out back dress to wear to one of them.  I never get tired of the print she chose.  I am going try to make a skirt with the left over fabric!  I also figured out a buttonhole on my new sewing machine for the first time!  It took me so many attempts to finally get it right!  The button makes it easier to get on and so cute!  I am going to change my cut out dress to have a button at the top too! My cousin lives in New York and she sent me buttons for my birthday this year!  I could not have been more excited.  I love unique buttons!  These are from a store in New York that is full of unique buttons!!
